I started having problems with the clock on my computer. So I replaced the CMOS battery. Would not boot. I tried every thing I could find on the internet. I really think now the problem was the mobo. Never had one fail before.
I shopped over the weekend and figured out what I wanted. Newegg was a litter higher than Amazon and I have Prime. Then I checked Microcenter and they beat all the others with their bundle deal. My last build was the same. So yesterday I drove down and got the stuff. I like their program of placing the order online then go to will-call and pay and go. I5-8600K, Asus Z370-A 16 gb ddr4 ram and Asus Dual GTX 1060-6gb. The vidcard was a little item I snuck in there.
Taking my time and removing the old stuff from the case and getting the dust out.
So wish me luck but this ain't my first rodeo.
Ride um cowboy......you'll do great.
Have fun, it won't disappoint!
Let us know how the build went Joel. Sounds like a really good match
I screwed up the thing and ended up with two users. Still working on that. I ended up downloading iRacing twice. I corrupted the first install by moving my old iracing file out of documents.windows.old that had too much win 7 stuff in it. I was trying to get replays and setups and things like that. Now it seems to be working better than ever.
I do have one question since I am here. The first time I ran graphics setup on the new but messed up system it showed 16gb of ram which is correct. Now when I run it it only shows 8.
I have searched for two days for an answer for this but didn't want to put it on iracing forums because I got too much crap about wanting to stay with Win 7 at the start of the post.
Joel, my system has 32gb of RAM and my video card has 8 gb. This is the system I just put together a couple of months ago. The specs were the same as far as memory goes for my old system, but OS was Win7 Pro. The sliders in the graphics options only seem to go to 4gb, for graphics and the system memory slider seems to only go to 8gb. This was the same in Win7 with my old system. I don't ever remember seeing a higher number. Not sure if that helps or not. Just my observation.

Thank you very much. One less thing to worry about!
